General Exclusions From all Australia Post Policies
Travelling against medical advice if you are unfit for travel.
Claims for costs taking place outside of the insured period.
Theft or loss of cash.
Pregnancy after the 24th week of gestation.
Negligent behaviour resulting in damages to or loss of property or medical emergencies.
Participating in high-risk activities that are not covered automatically by Australia Post Travel Insurance, including mountaineering, hunting, quad biking, racing, skiing, snowboarding, abseiling, diving, base-jumping, or yachting.
Not heeding official government warnings to travel to a certain country or area.
Consequential loss of enjoyment or other financial loss.
Death by suicide or attempted suicide or other bodily harm.
Sexually transmitted diseases.
Reckless behaviour as a result of alcohol or drug abuse.
Any unlawful behaviour.
Failure to adhere to local immigration laws.
Failure to take precautions after advance warning against strikes, civil unrest or other group gatherings.
Travelling to a country where advance warnings are given for natural disasters, terrorism, or health reasons.

You can claim via ordinary post by downloading a claim form, completing the form and posting back to Australia Post with original receipts and documents.

Ensure you upload all the relevant documentation if claiming online. You will need to submit original receipts, medical or dental reports, police reports, reports from your airline or transport provider, and any other receipts or documents to support your claim.
