General Exclusions From all Commonwealth Bank Policies

  • Any claims made outside of the insured period.

  • Consequential loss of any kind, including loss of enjoyment or loss of finances.

  • Pregnancy after the 24th week and any childbirth.

  • Failure to take reasonable care to look after yourself or your belongings.

  • Claims arising from acts of war, invasion, foreign enemies, or hostilities of any kind.

  • Any confiscations, detention, or destruction caused by customs or other officials.

  • Any unlawful act committed by you.

  • Claims arising from any circumstances you knew of prior to your trip, that you knew would result in a claim being made.

  • Travelling against medical advice or when you are unfit for travel.

  • Any pre-existing medical condition not covered by your policy.

  • Any sexually transmitted diseases.

  • Any elective medical or dental surgery such as cosmetic surgery, tattooing, or piercings.

  • Any suicide or attempted suicide or other bodily harm.

  • Any misconduct involved in while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

  • Any claims involving any event that is intentionally caused by you or someone you are travelling with.

  • The conduct of anyone you let into your accommodation with your consent, or whose accommodation you enter with your consent.

How to Make a Claim

  • Be upfront and honest about your claim. Provide information that is correct and supported by evidence.

  • Go to commbank.com.au/cbatravelclaims to submit a claim.

  • Follow the prompts for submitting a claim and gather all the relevant documentation for the claim.

  • Upload all your scanned supporting documents, including police reports, medical reports, receipts, proof of ownership, proof of expenses, and any other documents that will assist your claim.
