Travel Insurance Plans Available Through NAB Travel Insurance

  • Comprehensive Plan – Ideal for travellers looking for extensive cover with higher benefit limits, but only suited for international trips. This plan does not have any age limits.

  • Essentials Plan – While also best suited for international trips, the Essentials Plan does not include some of the benefits offered by the Comprehensive Plan, and some benefit limits are lower. However, this plan is limited to travellers aged 74 and under when the policy is issued.

  • Domestic Plan – Only intended for travel within Australia, so does not include cover for medical treatment or hospital benefits. There are no age limits attached to Domestic Plans

  • Multi-Trip Plan – Intended for individuals who travel frequently, with benefits that apply to an unlimited number of international or domestic trips over a 12-month period. Cover can be extended to include your spouse, partner, and/or qualifying dependents, but limited to travellers aged 74 and under at time of issue. Additional premium applies when extending cover.

The Comprehensive, Essentials, and Domestic Plans are available as Single, Duo, and Family cover, with Single and Family cover including free cover for children or grandchildren younger than 24 years of age and not employed full-time, if they are accompanying you on your trip. Duo cover does not include any cover for dependants and is intended only for two adults travelling together. Dependents must be listed on the Certificate of Insurance.

1 You would not have any cover under these sections while travelling in Australia.

2 Sub-limits apply as detailed in the relevant section of the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS).

3 This benefit does not extend to claims from activities listed under the Adventure Pack or Snow Pack, even if travel cover for these packs was purchased.

All benefit limits shown apply to Family Cover for the Comprehensive, Essentials, and Domestic Plans, and the Policy Limit for the Multi-Trip Plan. Exclusions and specific conditions apply. Refer to the PDS for details.

Additional NAB Travel Insurance Cover Options

NAB Travel Insurance makes provision for additional cover to be purchased for certain recreational activities and for cruises. The Snow, Cruise, or Adventure Packs can only be bought as add-ons for Comprehensive, Domestic, and Multi-Trip plans, and must be selected and paid for at the same time. Each offer benefits for events or claims that may arise from some winter sports, trips on cruise ships, or for high-risk recreational activities not automatically covered by the standard travel plans. The standard recreational activities that are automatically covered by the standard travel plans are listed in the PDS.

Additionally, you may, when purchasing a policy, also opt to increase the item limits that apply to the Luggage & Personal Effects benefit, along with an increased rental vehicle excess cover, and a higher standard excess. Increasing item limits and rental vehicle excess will result in a higher premium needing to be paid, while opting for a higher standard excess will reduce your premium, but require you pay a higher excess on certain claims.

NAB Travel Insurance and Pre-Existing Medical Conditions

The Comprehensive and Multi-Trip plans from NAB Travel Insurance automatically cover up to 36 pre-existing medical conditions, as listed in the PDS. No extra premium is payable to access cover for these conditions, as long as any requirement listed for each condition is met. Cover for pre-existing medical conditions not listed in the PDS is conditional to you disclosing the condition when applying for cover, and to NAB Travel Insurance agreeing to cover any claims resulting from the condition. Failure to disclose a pre-existing medical condition can result in NAB Travel Insurance declining any claim submitted by you, regardless of whether it is the result of a pre-existing condition or not.

How to Claim from NAB Travel Insurance
