QBE Travel Insurance

Travel insurance should never be an after-thought, because while no traveller wants anything to go wrong on their next trip, there's no sure way to avoid mishaps. And without travel insurance, something as simple as a delay in getting your luggage could turn into a major setback.

The QBE Insurance Group is Australia's largest international general insurance & reinsurance group, and one of the top 25 insurers and reinsurers worldwide. And their travel plans are designed to meet the needs of any traveller, from domestic to international, and even for visitors to Australia. Senior travellers will have no difficulty in getting cover with QBE, while all QBE travel plans include access to 24/7 emergency assistance through QBE Assist.

Travel insurance products offered by QBE

  • International Travel Insurance - Comprehensive travel cover for you and your family when visiting almost any international destination. There are just under 200 countries in the world, and there are many things that could affect your travel plans before - or during - your visit. And even minor mishaps can turn into costly nightmares.

  • Budget Travel Insurance - A low cost travel insurance product for overseas travel. However, it would be unfair to call this a bare-bones travel insurance product, since it still offers good benefits for the budget conscious overseas traveller.

  • Inbound Travel Insurance - A unique travel insurance for visitors to Australia, offering many of the same benefits as QBEs other travel insurance products, but tailored for non-residents visiting Australia for business or pleasure.

  • Annual Multi Trip Travel Insurance - Find yourself making multiple trips internationally and within Australia each year? QBEs Annual Multi Trip travel insurance saves you from having to take out travel insurance for each trip, and is better for your budget. There's no limit to the number of trips you can take during the 12-month period of insurance, but you are only covered for a maximum of 60-days for each trip.

  • Domestic (Australian) Travel Insurance - Travel insurance is just as important when you're travelling locally, because missed flights, lost luggage, and medical emergencies don't only happen in foreign countries. The benefits are similar to QBEs other travel insurance products, though medical and dental expenses are only covered if you're on a cruise ship in Australian waters.

  • Australian Cancellation and Additional Expenses - This plan offers limited cover for travel within Australia. This includes the non-refundable part of any pre-paid travel arrangements you have made, or additional travel, meals and accommodation. It does not offer any cover for your luggage and personal belongings, or for any trips lasting longer than 12-months. This travel insurance product is not currently offered by travelinsurance.com.au
