Pre-Existing Conditions Automatically Covered by RAC Travel Insurance
RAC travel insurance automatically covers some pre-existing medical conditions with no extra premium required, provided they meet certain criteria, which can be found in the PDS document.

General Exclusions for all RAC Policies
Not acting in a responsible way to protect yourself and your belongings.
Consequential loss of any kind, including loss of enjoyment or profit.
Travelling with the knowledge of a circumstance which would give rise to the need to make a claim.
Any claim as a result of terrorism, a natural disaster, or a health concern, where an advance warning was given for travel to that country or area.
Any claim arising due to unlawful behaviour on your part.
Driving a vehicle, motorcycle, moped, or another vehicle for which you do not have a valid Australian drivers license or IDP for driving that vehicle in a foreign country.
Any pre-existing medical condition not covered automatically by the policy.
Travelling against medical advice.
Pregnancy or childbirth after the 26th week.
Any medical facilities such as a rehabilitation centre, where you are being treated for the use of alcohol or drugs.
Any claim due to depression, anxiety, stress, mental illness, suicide, and attempted suicide.
Any sexually transmitted diseases.
Any unnecessary or elective cosmetic or dental surgery.
Participating in any high-risk activities that are not covered by your policy or that you are paying an extra premium for.
Cooling-Off Period
You have 21-days from the date of issue of your policy Certificate of Insurance to decide if the RAC policy is right for your needs. If you decide to cancel within this 21-day period, you will receive a full refund, provided you have not yet started your trip or want to make a claim or exercise any right under the policy. You can notify RAC of your cancellation by phone or email.
How to Make a Claim from RAC
Provide all the necessary documentation and information for your claim to be processed, within 30-days after you return home from your trip. These include court documents, receipts, invoices, travel, and tickets.
All evidence of the value of the item insured or the amount of any loss should be provided to the insurer.
Supply all original medical and dental certificates and reports.
For lost or stolen luggage and personal belongings, a written police report of the incident is necessary to back up your claim.
Do not admit fault or liability for any claim or promise payment of any kind without prior authorisation from the insurer.
You will be advised of any excess payable.
Your claim will be processed within 10 business days of submitting a claim.
