TID Claims Process

  • Notify TID of any claims within 30-days after returning from you trip.

  • Submit a claim online at travelinsurancedirect.com.au/claims using your email address and TID password that you created when you bought your policy.

  • Submit a claim through the system, by answering a few questions about the claim, listing the expenses you are claiming, and upload the relevant documents for your claim.

  • Your claim will be processed within 10-days of receiving your claim form and all the relevant information.

Cooling-off period

You are given 14-days from the time that you have been issued the certificate of insurance, to decide whether TID is the right cover for you. This is referred to as the cooling-off period. During this cooling-off period, you can cancel your policy if you decide that you no longer want it. You will receive a full refund of your paid premium, provided you have not yet started your trip; haven’t yet made a claim, and don’t plan to make a claim under your policy. If you decide to cancel your policy at any time after the cooling-off period, you may do so, but you will not receive a refund for your premium.
